Making a Successful App

Making a successful app is very hard. Some companies spend a lot of money on advertising whilst other apps just get lucky. But you should do everything in your hands to promote your app.
Maybe you don't have an idea for an app yet, but you have decided to go into the app business. First of all, you should have a look at other apps that are already successful. Explore the app stores (App Store, Google Play, Amazon... ) you are interested in and see what kind of content is being featured. Those are the ones who did it right, and you should learn from them. A good book with examples of successful apps is The App and Mobile Case Study Book, a guide with 80 stories of brands that nailed it.
Conduct a bit of research about what users are interested in right now. Use the Google Trends service to see what people are searching on the web, and check whether there is an app that matches that interest. Additionally, don't give up on an idea if you don't find it trending. Sometimes people don't know what they want until they see it done.
Have a look at the store's Top 10. Maybe you can release something similar or even better; improve what already exists. After Whatsapp, came Line, Snapchat, and Telegram. These were all apps that were slightly different and offered the consumer more options for a chat app.
What do YOU need? Surely you have been in multiple situations when you needed some information, a tool, or a service, and you couldn't use any computer or the smartphone in your pocket. Instead of waiting for a solution to be made, you can make it yourself.
Choose the right category. Some categories have more competition than others.
Use the in-app analytics tools to know how your users interact with your app.
Create the app website. You can do it very simply by using WordPress and one of the many mobile app themes. Be sure to include your app name and icon, show the supported devices (iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Phone... ), and add your best screenshots and even an explanatory video. Set a large, visible button linking your app to the app store. If you already have good reviews about your app, add them to the website. Show your contact information and social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Google+... )
Implement a section within the app to get feedback, and listen to your users. Not only will you improve your app based on the users critiques,, but you will also build a valuable connection with them. It will encourage them to share and talk about your app to others, and they'll become possible customers for future apps.
Send your app to specialized bloggers (you can use promo-codes), and they will spread the word to potential customers.
